FACULTY SPEAKER: “Reimagining Leadership in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous (VUCA) World” by Erin Park Cohn, PhD (‘00)

Reimagining Leadership in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous (VUCA) World

Virtual event with Erin Park Cohn, PhD (‘00)

The COVID-19 crisis has illuminated a pressing need to redefine how we lead change in a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA). What habits and mindsets do leaders need in order to adapt and solve problems nimbly and collaboratively? How might old, often gendered models of leadership be getting in our way? Join Erin Park Cohn, the new Director of the Wurtele Center for Leadership and member of the class of 2000, for a virtual session on the future of women’s leadership at Smith and beyond. Erin will give a short presentation that will highlight the research her team conducted as part of her strategic planning efforts for the Wurtele Center and share some of the strategic ways the Center is planning to redefine leadership for the next generation of Smithies. The talk will be followed by 60 minutes of interactive discussion. Bring your thoughts about leadership and together we’ll learn and engage on this critical topic.

NOTE: There is a short (30-minute) pre-work assignment for this session that we’ll ask you to complete and bring to the call.

If you are a member of the Club, you will receive an invitation.
