For September 2020 we will be reading Washington Black by Esi Edugyan. Here’s a review of the book from The New Yorker: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/09/24/washington-black-reveals-the-bonds-of-both-cruelty-and-compassion.
The Smith College Club of the Peninsula Book Club provides a friendly, open and inquiring setting for discussing various works of literature (both classic and contemporary). Meetings take place at 7:00 pm, generally on the third Wednesday of each month. We are currently meeting virtually, but in non-COVID times we enjoy gathering at the homes of members of the book club. Any Smith alum is welcome, and you don’t have to “join”—just attend as often or as rarely as the meetings fit your interests and schedule.
To get proactive evites to the book club meetings and to receive the reading list, please contact Book Club Coordinator Sally Smith by filling out the form on our website at https://www.peninsulasmithclubca.org/book-club.
