Mindy Chu '11 and Sidnie Davis '08, represented Smith at a recent college fair for Leigh High school students in San Jose!
The fair was focused on underclassmen and it was a lot of fun talking to students and parents, many of whom were hearing of Smith for the first time and just starting to consider their options.
In order to wish students luck on final exams and bid them adieu after another year of school, the club ordered custom Sugarfina candy cubes filled with ice cream cone-shaped gummy candies and a handwritten note to each current student from the Peninsula area.
We received some immediate gratitude via Facebook from students happy to find a sweet treat as they embark on the last month of classes before summer break or look forward to graduation!
Join us on Mother’s Day weekend to give back to young mothers in the Bay Area!
On Saturday, May 13th, from 2 - 4pm, we will be hosting a volunteering party for Loved Twice. Loved Twice is a local Bay Area nonprofit that collects gently-used baby clothing, sorts these precious garments into boy and girl boxes, and distributes them to local hospitals, shelters, and clinics for underprivileged mothers-to-be.
Come join us in San Mateo to help us assemble these lovely boxes while enjoying refreshments on a lovely May day. Family, friends, and significant others are not only welcome, but actively encouraged to join in.
It's that time of year again! After many interviews and events meeting prospective students, we received the list of admitted students for the class of 2021! Our first order of business was to give them all a warm Smith welcome from the club. Three board members volunteered to drop off yellow roses and specially-designed cards featuring Neilson Library. Each rose was hand-delivered to the student's home in the three days after decisions went out. The cards congratulated students and encouraged them to get in touch with our Alumnae Admissions Coordinator, Mary Lou Cronin '88, if they have remaining questions or want to speak with current students. Prospective students were very excited and we've also received many thank you email messages in response to the Rose Drop.
