Welcome to the Smith College Club of the Peninsula Website!
Here's what we've been up to lately! For more information, email the club at email@example.com
Brent Durbin, Associate Professor of Government at Smith, is joining us to share his new research exploring how the 21st-century "big data revolution" is affecting politics and social change. Brent's work touches on how "digital technologies are so tied into human psychology and culture... and the need to develop a type of ethics within the tech industry that's akin to the Hippocratic Oath".
This event will be held at the home of Shana Nelson Middler '89 on Sunday, March 24, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in Woodside. Please join us for Brent's presentation, a discussion, and time to meet other local Smithies!
To RSVP, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by March 20th. The cost is $10/person for non-members and guests, FREE for Club members. This event is open to everyone, but there is limited space.
On Sunday, January 13th, we held a much-beloved annual tradition, our cider party! We were fortunate to welcome almost 50 prospective students and their families, alumnae, current students, and recent grads to the Palo Alto home of Laura Selznick '68, to share in hot cider and home baked goodies. We love the story Laura tells each year of the cider ladle passed down to her that we are still lucky enough to be using. This is such a fun and cozy winter tradition and we hope to see some of the prospective students join the class of 2023 at Smith!
